Aysia Santos collects third Cal Pac Player of the Week Award this year
VALLEJO, Calif. – Since Stanton did not provide a video stream, live stats or stats file following Saturday's Cal Pac Conference road game in Southern California — and still has not provided those files as of the timing of this release — not much is known about what took place throughout that matchup.
What is known, undeniable and undisputed is this: Cal Maritime won the game in overtime, Aysia Santos finished with 19 points the latter scored eight of those points in overtime and earned eight of her team's 12 points in that extra session, hitting all four shots from the free throw line.
Her late-game heroics led to Cal Pac officials naming her its Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season, making her the second player in program history to accomplish this feat.
Alexsis Brown was the first to earn three weekly honors and did so during the 2011-2012 year.
The Keelhaulers are off until next Monday, February 9, when they host Navajo Tech in the first of two 5 p.m. home games taking place in as many days.
