Crew wraps up Fall Season
Cal Maritime's Crew Team wrapped up its fall season at the Head of the Lagoon on November 9. All the Keelhaulers had strong races, focusing on working together as a team after the long layoff, with seemingly every boat saving its best performance of the season for last.
Due to a fire on campus and a subsequent week-and-a-half campus closure, the team had little practice over the two weeks leading up to the weekend, but the Keelhaulers came together for their last 5k race of the year.
Fog delayed the start of racing, but once it lifted Cal Maritime competed in eight events, bringing home first in two events and third in three events.
The Women's Team would finish sixth of nine teams in the Women's Collegiate Novice 4 edging out the likes of UC Davis, Chico State, and St. Mary's. They finished fourth of six teams in the Women's Collegiate 8, coming in ahead of UC Davis B and Sonoma State.
It was the first race of the season for the men's and women's novice fours, with both squads rowing well their respective races.
