Cal Maritime names Tammie Mansuy new head women’s golf coach
VALLEJO, Calif. – Tammie Mansuy, a Napa Valley Unified School District physical education teacher and coach with over 22 years of experience, is Cal Maritime's new head women's golf coach, as announced by Director of Athletics and Physical Education Karen Lee Yoder on Tuesday.
"I am thrilled to select Tammie as our next head women's golf coach," said Yoder. "Her diverse coaching background will help cadets enjoy success on the golf course and in the classroom. Combined with the excitement and passion current cadet-athletes possess for the campus' newest intercollegiate sport, I am excited to watch this program grow throughout the upcoming years."
"I'm absolutely thrilled to have this opportunity to be a part of Cal Maritime Athletics. I look forward to coaching the women's golf team and getting to know these amazing cadets," said Mansuy.
After earning her degree in physical education at Weber State, following a four-year career on an athletic scholarship as a member of the Wildcats' softball program, Mansuy became an independent softball pitching instructor — a role she started in 1996 that continues to the present day — and joined NVUSD as one of its PE teachers in August of 2000.
Throughout the academic year, Mansuy creates and implements a comprehensive and engaging curriculum for students at various schools throughout Napa and American Canyon.
In addition to her role as a teacher, Mansuy also served as Napa High School's softball coach, head golf and head JV volleyball coach at Vintage High School, and the softball coach at Napa Valley College.
