Natalie So leads Keelhaulers’ contingent at the Cal Pac Women’s Golf Championship
BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Led by Natalie So who finished 18th overall by recording her lowest round of the tournament on Wednesday, Cal Maritime ended the three-day California Pacific Conference Women's Golf Championship in fourth place.
Shortly after the tournament concluded, league officials unveiled this year's Cal Pac All-Academic Team, a list that incuded senior mechanical engineering major N. So.
The Cal Pac's postseason tournament, hosted by Soka, spanned three days and took place in Boulder City, Nevada, on Boulder Creek Golf Club's Desert Hawk and Coyote Run courses. Both were 5,894-yard par 72 layouts.
Trinity So posted the second-lowest score among all Keelhaulers and finished 20th; Jennifer Santana, Anela Donachie and Julia Mast in 22nd through 24th place, respectively.
So, Santana and Donachie all enjoyed their lowest 18-hole round on Tuesday; as was the case with N. So, Mast's lowest round took place during the final day of action.
A busy week of competition for Mast concluded on Wednesday in Boulder City since she was one of a handful of cadet-athletes who traveled to Portland on Friday to represent Cal Maritime's dinghy sailing team at the Rainier Cup — the Pacific Northwest's premier event.
After helping CSUM successfully defend its regatta championship, the Mast met her teammates Sunday night after catching a flight from Oregon to Las Vegas.
The Cal Pac Championship capped a busy portion of women's golf's schedule, one that started just over two weeks ago with an exhibition dual at UC Santa Cruz. Four days later, the team met Providence Christian in Nipomo, California, for a two-day dual that doubled as the final Cal Pac Championship tune-up for each squad.
Embry-Riddle successfully collected its ninth-consecutive team title in addition to winning this year's individual championship.
