ANGWIN, Calif. – Sunday's game at Pacific Union was a memorable one for freshman Amanda Carvalho because two milestones took place in that Cal Pac matchup: In addition to scoring her first goal as a Keelhauler, she is now responsible for the program's inaugural brace by scoring both Cal Maritime goals against the Pioneers.
Of her eight shots, five were on goal and two found the back of the net in a game PUC took by a 6-2 score.
Women's soccer will now experience a quick turnaround because it will return to action on Tuesday, at 11 a.m., at Simpson in a game that was originally schedule for the opening weekend of the season until poor air quality in Redding, on September 26 due to wildfires that took place around the region, forced a postponement of this league tilt.
As a team, six of the Keelhaulers' 12 shots were on goal.
