REDDING, Calif. – One of Jackie Garcia's two attempts were on goal, teammates Amanda Carvalho and Madalyn Reynolds each recorded a shot against Simpson in Tuesday's neutral-site game at California Soccer Park in Redding, California.
Trailing 1-0 at halftime, the host Red Hawks ended up pulling away from the Keelhaulers as the game progressed to record a 9-0 victory in this rescheduled road event. This Cal Pac matchup was originally scheduled for Sept. 26 until poor air quality caused by smoke from various wildfires in the surrounding area forced a postponement.
Cal Maritime will enter Sunday's home finale vs. UC Merced with a 0-10-1 overall and 0-6-1 league record; Simpson will enter its season finale at 9-4-2 and 8-1-1.
Keelhauler women's soccer fans are encouraged to arrive to Bodnar Field early on Sunday to help the program honor its seniors — Garcia, Margaret Malmquist-West and Emily Silva — before the start of this 1 p.m. league tilt vs. the Bobcats.
