Keelhaulers edged in season opener at Multnomah

PORTLAND – Freshman midfielder Lucy Bower recorded her first shot (on goal) as a Keelhauler and junior forward Mia Rathsack recorded another pair of shots in Friday afternoon's season opener at Williford Field in Portland.

Even though the host Lions scored early, Cal Maritime remained within striking distance for most of the match until that deficit doubled in the final portion of the game, which led to a 2-0 victory for Multnomah — a team competing in its fourth official game of the season (in addition to a trio of scrimmages that took place throughout the month of March).

The Keelhaulers will wrap-up their first-ever Oregon road trip with Saturday's 5 p.m. contest at Warner Pacific and enter that matchup with a 0-1 overall record. Multnomah will continue its season at 1-3.
