VALLEJO, Calif. — In the first of five straight games taking place at Bodnar Field throughout the next two weeks, Mia Rathsack nearly put the Keelhaulers on the board in the 25th minute of Monday's non-conference home game, a header from Erika Tam was thwarted at the last possible moment, and another pair of shots from Rathsack, including one that led to a team save, were part of a first-half flurry of scoring opportunities for Cal Maritime.
A pair of goals, scored within a minute of one another late in the first hald, turned a 1-0 Lincoln lead into a sizable cushion, one that ended in a 4-0 result for the visiting Oaklanders.
The Keelhaulers were efficient with their scoring chances since five of their seven shots were on goal, led by Rathsack who finished with five shots and four on target — both team highs. Tam was responsible for the other two attempts and the team's other shot on goal.
Including a handful from point-blank range, CSUM goalkeeper Maddy Dack collected 16 saves throughout the inaugural head-to-head matchup, in program history, versus Lincoln.
Women's soccer will have two days to prep for its next contest, slated for Thursday at 5 p.m. against Antelope Valley in the team's Cal Pac home opener.
