VALLEJO, Calif. – Four teams will visit UC Merced Aquatics Center this Friday-Sunday, but only one will exit the facility on Sunday as champions of the inaugural NAIA Women's Water Polo Finals. In addition to Cal Maritime and UC Merced, the event's host, Westcliff and Ottawa University will visit the Central Valley for this three-day event.

Action will commence Friday morning with round robin matches taking place at 10 and 11:30 a.m. Following a mid-day break, the final set of games will take place at 5 and 6:30 p.m. All four teams will return to the UC Merced Aquatics Center Saturday morning for the final round robin games, culminating with an 11:30 a.m. tilt between the Keelhaulers and OUAZ.

Based on the results from the Final's first six matches, teams will receive their respective seeds for Semifinal 1, featuring the #1 and #4 seed in a 5 p.m. clash, followed by Semifinal 2 — a 6:30 p.m. clash between the #2 and #3-seeded squads.

The winners of those semifinals will square off in Sunday's 1:45 p.m. Championship Game, the other two teams will battle for third in Sunday's 12 p.m. matchup.

Off since February 26, CSUM will head to UC Merced with a full month of practice designed to build chemistry and help the team peak throughout the final weeks of the season.

In its last contest, the Keelhaulers swept the final day of action at the UC Merced WWP Tournament #2 with wins against Saint Mary's and UC Santa Cruz.

When it returns to Vallejo on Sunday, CSUM will have nearly two weeks to prep for its final tournament of 2023, the CWPA Championship, hosted by Saint Mary's in Moraga, California, from April 15-16.
