VALLEJO, Calif. – Cal Maritime's final set of games for the 2024 season will take place at its home facility when Ottawa University (AZ) and UC Merced visit PEAC Pool for this weekend's NAIA West Invitational, formerly known as the NAIA Women's Final,

Round-robin matches will take place throughout Saturday; Cal Maritime will face OUAZ in the tournament's 10 a.m. opener and end that day's action with a 3 p.m. matchup versus UC Merced.

Taking place between those games is a 12 p.m. contest between UC Merced and OUAZ.

The Keelhaulers will have an opportunity to avenge its season-opening loss to UC Merced, a matchup that also took place at PEAC Pool.

Entering this weekend's tournament, Cal Maritime won six of its 10 home matches this season, a record that includes a four-game win streak to win the CWPA Tournament #2 title — the first of consecutive championships in as many weekends during the month of February.

Before heading to Vallejo, UC Merced will host Cal State East Bay on Friday, kicking-off a weekend that includes as many as five matches within a three-day timespan.

Based on Saturday's results, the team with the best record will earn a berth in the NAIA Finals' 12 p.m. championship game and face the winner of Sunday's inaugural game, set for 9 a.m., between the other two teams.

Entering their upcoming weekend's schedule, the Bobcats dropped their last nine in a row.

Off since March 30 when it faced Arizona State in a road matchup, OUAZ will end its two-week hiatus, and its 2024 schedule, in Vallejo this weekend.

Even though the Spirit dropped its only home game of the year, they won three of five games on the road and another four during neutral-site contests.

With Cal Maritime's commencement set for May 4, this weekend's games are the final home events of the 2023-24 academic year.
