Cal Maritime Women's Cross Country Making Strides
Cal Maritime traveled to William Jessup University to take part in the Cal Pac Preview on Friday, Oct 19th. Weather was perfect as schools from the Cal Pac had the opportunity to preview the course that will be the site for the Cal Pac Championships on Nov 2nd. Seven colleges were represented with Soka University taking first place.
"We are getting better each week. Our focus has been on working together to push one another during the race, and we are definitely improving in that category", said Coach Jeff Ward after the race. Elizabeth Duchetta crossed the finish line first for Cal Maritime, followed by Sandra Franco-Cisneros, Konnor Triplett-Gold, Alexa Magda, and Kelly Amezquita. This was the first race for Magda and Amezquita, and they both look to improve from the experience gained at the race. Duchetta and Franco-Cisneros continue to progress due to their competitiveness. "They push each other during practice and the results are showing. They work very well together", added Coach Jeff Ward.
