Keelhaulers gain experience at Vanguard Invitational

Orange, Ca. – Cal Maritime traveled south to Orange, California to run in the Vanguard Invitational on Saturday, Oct 8th. The race was run in beautiful Irvine Regional Park under perfect conditions. The women took to the start line first, followed by the men's race.

Alanna Kochuten led all Keelhaulers with a personal best and new CMA school record for the 5K distance. Evelyn Esparza crossed the finish line next, narrowly missing a PR herself. Bethany Johnson made her Keelhauler debut, traversing the course in a respectable time. Sarah Kim followed Bethany to round out the women's race for the Keelhaulers. The Keelhaulers will be at full strength for their next race which will be the Santa Clara Open on Saturday, Oct 15th. The women's race will start at 11:15 am.
