Keelhaulers continue to build at Santa Clara
Sunnyvale, Ca. The Women's Cross Country made their way down to Sunnyvale, Ca. on Saturday, Oct 15th to take part in the Santa Clara Open hosted by Santa Clara University. The Keelhaulers looked to be at full strength for the first time of the year; however, a late scratch forced the women to only run 4 at the fast 6K race. The conditions were near perfect for the start of the race. With over the 185 runners at the start line, this was the biggest field the Keelhaulers have faced this year.
Alanna Kochuten led the Keelhaulers with a personal best in the 6K distance. Both Gwyn Curry and Evelyn Esparza both improved on their past Santa Clara performances from last season. Bethany Johnson had a great finish to round out the Keelhaulers efforts.
The Keelhauler Cross Country will travel to Rocklin, Ca. next to compete in the William Jessup Invitational held on Saturday, Oct 22nd. The race will start at 10:00 am at Springview Park in Rocklin.
