Norton, Adderly and Pennington lead Keelhaulers in Saturday's season opener

VALLEJO, Calif. – Eric Norton and Braxton Adderly each finished with a team-high 13 points on 5 of 9 shooting and Miles Pennington added another 12, by hitting 4 of 9 shots in Saturday's 2021-22 season opener at PEAC Gym.

Even though they shot .355 from the floor compared to the Knights' .435 shooting clip, the Keelhaulers remained within striking distance until the final portion of the second half when WP pulled away to collect an 82-62 victory in the Frank Dye Classic's finale.

In addition to posting 12 points, Pennington collected a team-high eight of the Keelhaulers' 27 rebounds.

As the only team to play twice throughout the weekend, Warner Pacific will return home with a 1-1 record. Cal Maritime will continue its season-opening three-game homestand on Saturday, November 6, in a 2 p.m. matchup vs. Dominican.

The Keelhaulers were originally slated to face West Coast Baptist on Friday, in its originally scheduled season opener, until the Eagles were forced to withdraw due to COVID protocols.
