Keelhaulers wrap-up road trip, shift attention to Wednesday’s 6 p.m. home opener

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Cal Maritime experienced a slow start to Saturday's road game at Alaska Airlines Center, which was all the host Seawolves needed to pull away and protect a lead that lasted the rest of the afternoon as the Keelhaulers fell in the second head-to-head matchup against Alaska Anchorage, in as many days, by an 88-53 result.

Cal Maritime will return home at 0-3; UAA, a NCAA Division II program, will continue its season at 2-0.

A pair of junior transfers led the way for CSUN as DeAndre Minor finished with a team-high 14 points followed by Illyaas Rafiq's 11. The former canned 6 of 9 attempts with the latter sinking 3 of 4 shots from distance.

Minor also blocked four of CSUM's six shots, an individual total that ended up four times as many as the entire Seawolf team combined.

Led by Rafiq, the Keelhaulers' bench earned 28 of their team's 23 points.

Justice Cole ended his day with a team-high six rebounds; Everett Perrot and DJ Henry collected five apiece as the trio earned just over half of the team's 30 total rebounds.
