VALLEJO, Calif. – Cal Maritime's season-opening three-game road swing will conclude this week when it heads north to face Alaska Anchorage for back-to-back games this Friday and Saturday. Tipoff for Friday's non-conference matchup is 12 p.m. PT, Saturday's contest will commence at 4 p.m. PT.

Cal Maritime is the Seawolves' season-opening opponent since they participated in only one event prior to this week's games: a matchup against Alaska Anchorage alumni that took place last Saturday. Not only is CSUM's trip covered by UAA, the Keelhaulers are the first of two Cal Pac teams heading to The Last Frontier this season since UC Merced is slated to compete in a pair of games in mid-November.

This week's slate is a phenomenal opportunity for Cal Maritime to test itself against a Division II program — Alaska Anchorage is a member of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference — because the Seawolves are the only non-NAIA team on the Keelhaulers' slate.

In its season opener last Thursday, which doubled as the start of the Colin Johnson era at CSUM, Lunden Taylor led the team with 18 points and was one of three Keelhaulers who finished in double figures. Shawn Kelly added 14 points, two blocks and two steals; in addition to his team-high seven rebounds, Everett Perrot ended his night with 10 points.

Once CSUM returns from Anchorage, it will enjoy a brief respite since its next game, scheduled for Wednesday, November 8, is the first taking place inside PEAC Main Gym this season.

The first of a two-game homestand will feature Jessup as the team's opponent, the other home game will conclude this season's series versus Menlo and will take place the following week on November 16.
