VALLEJO, Calif. – A unique situation will take place this week for men's soccer when it competes in a pair of Cal Pac games in as many days. Cal Maritime will begin this busy period of soccer at home against Pacific Union in the last of a three-match homestand.

Kickoff against the Pioneers is set for 5 p.m. at Bodnar Field.

The Keelhaulers will hit the road the following day and head to Tahoe Vista to face Sierra Nevada in a matchup that was originally scheduled for September 23. Instead of squaring off against the Eagles that afternoon, Cal Maritime's season opener was postponed until a date that worked for both teams.

After opening the season with wins in two of its first three games, Pacific Union lost the next three straight, including its league opener against Simpson. However, the Pioneers rebounded from that string of results to win its next two home games vs. La Sierra, 1-0 in overtime, and against Soka by a 2-1 score.

Including Thursday's game at Bodnar Field, four of Pacific Union's next five games will take place outside of Angwin.

Even though it is taking place a couple weeks later than originally scheduled, the Keelhaulers will head to Sierra Nevada for the first of four consecutive road games. Additional stops throughout their upcoming road swing include Saint Katherine (10/15), Westcliff (10/17) and UC Merced (10/22) before the team hosts Sierra Nevada (10/24) in its next home game.

Cal Maritime will compete against every North Division opponent twice this season, once at home and another time on the road, with games against various South and Southwest Division teams completing this year's slate.

Starting with their game against Cal Maritime, the Eagles will wrap-up a five-game homestand against a pair of Northern California foes this weekend; once the Keelhaulers head home, Sierra Nevada will have one full day to prep for Sunday's game vs. Simpson.

After dropping their first four games of the season, the inaugural win of 2021 took place last Sunday for the Eagles when they defeated Antelope Valley, 2-1.
