TAHOE VISTA, Calif. - After walking off Bodnar Field Thursday night in the last of a season-opening three-game homestand, Cal Maritime returned to action on Friday when it traveled to Sierra Nevada to compete in a game originally scheduled for September 23 — its 2021 season opener.
Once action began in this postponed match, which took place at North Tahoe Regional Park on the only date that fit both team's schedule, Luka Bilaver, Anthony Toscano and Ronald Squire each recorded shots against an Eagles squad that reorded four goals throughout the first half, and added another to its lead with 43 seconds left to play to defeat the Keelhaulers, 5-0.
Cal Maritime's road swing will continue next week when it heads to Southern California to face Saint Katherine on October 15 in a Cal Pac game that will kick-off at 10 a.m. Two days later, the Keelhaulers will square off against Westcliff at 11 a.m. before returning to Vallejo.
