Bobcats turn back Keelhaulers, Cal Maritime returns home on Sunday

MERCED, Calif. - Colin Powers nearly found the back of the net in Friday night's Cal Pac Conference game at Bobcat Field, but his attempt was turned away and kept the Keelhaulers from scoring their first goal, Anthony Toscano tested UC Merced's goalkeeper as well, and Cal Maritime goalkeeper Nathan Witte finished with 17 saves in the last of four consecutive road games for men's soccer.

The host Bobcats led 3-0 through the first 35 minutes of action, and slowly extended their lead as the game progressed to collect a 9-0 victory vs. the Keelhaulers.

With this result, Cal Maritime will return to Bodnar Field for Sunday's 1:30 p.m. league contest against Sierra Nevada with a 0-6-1 overall and 0-3 league record; UC Merced will end its week atop the North Division standings at 8-3 and 4-0.

Fans who are planning to attend this weekend's home contest can park in Lot O, the first parking area available to the public once it enters main campus. Keelhauler supporters who are unable to attend in person can follow the action through live stats
