Kashiwai scores second goal in as many days in Saturday’s Cal Pac clash

VALLEJO, Calif. – For the second time in as many days, freshman forward Nic Kashiwai scored for Cal Maritime when men's soccer hosted Westcliff in Saturday's Cal Pac matchup at Bodnar Field. The Mililani, Hawai'i native earned his team-high third goal of the season in the 67th minute to pull the Keelhaulers within two goals of the Warriors, with plenty of soccer left to play.

Even though Westcliff held a 1-0 lead entering halftime, Saturday's contest was a back-and-forth affair with each team creating legitimate scoring opportunities throughout the afternoon.

Following Kashiwai's strike, the Warriors began to pull away since their fourth goal, score 3:30 later, returned its lead to a three-goal cushion; another three were recorded before the final horn sounded and turned a 7-1 score into the day's official result.

A four-game homestand will continue Thursday when Embry-Riddle visits Vallejo for a 5 p.m. contest, and conclude on Alumni Weekend against Saint Katherine (10 a.m.).
