OCEANSIDE, Calif. – Sophomore defender/midfielder Luka Bilaver scored his third goal of the weekend, and fourth in as many games, when his strike in the 53rd minute put Cal Maritime on the scoreboard in Saturday's Cal Pac Conference matchup against Saint Katherine at Mira Costa College in Oceanside, California.
While that trimmed his team's deficit, early offense from the Firebirds — they scored twice within the first 10 minutes of action — led to their 5-1 win over CSUM.
Awaiting the Keelhaulers from their long drive home from Southern California is a season-ending four-game stretch at home, starting with Friday's 4 p.m. Cal Pac contest versus La Sierra at Bodnar Field.
Men's soccer will experience a quick turnaround this weekend since its following game is slated for Sunday morning at 11 a.m. against Lincoln (CA). Cal Maritime will enter that upcoming homestand with records of 1-12 and 1-9; Saint Katherine improves to 6-6-1 and 3-3-1 with its Senior Day result.
