Luka Bilaver, Jose Diaz earn All-Cal Pac honors
VALLEJO, Calif. – Sophomores Luka Bilaver and Jose Diaz earned All-California Pacific Conference Honorable Mention when league officials announced their end-of-season honor roll on Wednesday.
This is the first all-conference award received by both throughout their career as a Keelhauler.
By scoring a team-high eight goals throughout the 2023 season, Diaz is now responsible for the largest single season scoring total in program history. Combined with an assist, his 17 points is another new all-time single season program mark.
Cal Maritime's leading scorer this past year also ranked tied for No. 11 among all Cal Pac players with his career-best goals total. Of the league's top scorers, Diaz is the only defender.
Of the Cornelius, Oregon native's 45 shots, 24 were on goal; both figures are another pair of team highs.
Bilaver set new career highs in numerous categories by ending his season with four goals, two assists, 10 points, 21 shots and 14 shots on goal.
After notching his first goal as a Keelhauler in the team's 5-1 home victory versus Providence Christian, Bilaver scored another three throughout his team's final road trip of 2023.
The second-year defender/midfielder, who hails from San Pedro, California, notched his first career brace at Antelope Valley and recorded the team's lone goal two days later at Saint Katherine.
This is the first time multiple CSUM players earned All-Cal Pac accolades since 2018 when three Keelhaulers, Ezra Dickens, Justin Davis and Keegan Flynn, also earned spots on the conference's honorable mention list.
Since 2018, Noah Anderson is the other Cal Maritime men's soccer cadet-athlete to earn a spot on the league's yearly honor roll; this accomplishment took place last season.
