Keelhaulers fall to Urban Knights, 4-2

SAN FRANCISCO - The Keelhaulers made the short drive to San Francisco for their final road match of the regular season as they took NCAA Division II member Academy of Art. The Urban Knights defeated the Keelhaulers, 4-2. 

In the first half, the Urban Knights would get on the scoreboard first in the 21st minute on a Joey Glaab tally after passes from Keita Goto and Kristian Lonvig. The Urban Knights would score again in the 30th minute on a Chris Stokes tally after a pass from Adrian Lechuga. The Urban Knights led 2-0 at halftime.

In the second half, the Keelhaulers got on the scoreboard in the 52nd minute on a Jose Diaz strike. Diaz would score again in the 61st minute to tie the match at 2-2. The Urban Knights would take the lead for good in the 75th minute on a Heath Nager tally after a pass from Lonvig. The final chance for the Keelhaulers to score came in the 81st minute but Diaz's shot went just right of the frame. Glaab would score the final goal of the match in the 83rd minute.

Florian Grollmann got the win for the Urban Knights and Fabian Garcia got the loss for the Keelhaulers. The Urban Knights outshot the Keelhaulers 19-4 and had a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The Keelhaulers will play their final two matches of the regular season at home. The next match for the Keelhaulers is Saturday as they take on UC Merced in California Pacific Conference play. The match will serve as Senior Day for CSUM and will kickoff at 2:30 p.m.
