VALLEJO, Calif. –
Now that the 2025 season is in its final weeks, the conference standings will garner as much attention as opponent scouting plans with only 1.5 games separating three teams battling for two spots at the Cal Pac Conference Men's Soccer Championship.

Trailing Simpson by half a game — both teams have a win against Cal Pac opposition but the Red Hawks have one less loss — the two are within striking distance of a Pacific Union squad that is 1.5 games ahead of the Keelhaulers with three fewer losses, but three more ties by comparison. Only half a game separates first place Stanton from Westcliff; this makes both Cal Maritime games important ones for everyone involved since the regular season title, playoff berths and seedings will become heavily influenced by the results of matches played throughout the upcoming days.

With one more league result compared to everyone else, Simpson is off until October 30.

This week's slate is a challenging one for the Keelhaulers since they are facing the league's top two teams, but anything is possible since losses suffered to the Elks and Warriors came from two highly-competitive matchups that saw each opponent pull away late to seal each result earlier this year. However, both Cal Maritime's opponents suffered their lone league loss of the season at home with Stanton dropping their first conference game in its last appearance.

With the right combination of results from this week's play — Pacific Union will travel and face the same two teams throughout the weekend — Cal Maritime faces an opportunity to climb the standing and place itself in the best possible position prior to its home finale at Bodnar Field.
