VALLEJO, Calif. – An exciting weekend is in store for Cal Maritime since it is hosting the Sierra Pacific Division Tournament this weekend at PEAC Pool. With six league schools visiting Vallejo throughout the weekend — Chico State, Cal, Stanford, UC Santa Cruz, San Jose State and Cal State Monterey Bay — the Keelhaulers will enjoy a unique home-pool advantage with one goal: win the tournament in front of its fans.

The winner of this weekend's tournament will represent the Sierra Pacific Division at the national tournament; Cal will seek its third straight postseason championship with the other teams looking to dethrone the Golden Bears this weekend.

Based on this season's results, Chico State will enter the weekend as the top seed, followed by Cal (No. 2) who lost to the Wildcats last weekend. Cal Maritime, the tournament runner-up in each of the last two years is ranked No. 3 and followed by Stanford (No. 4), UC Santa Cruz (No. 5), San Jose State (No. 6) and Cal State Monterey Bay (No. 7).

Participating teams are organized by the following brackets entering this weekend's action:

A Bracket: Chico State, Stanford, UC Santa Cruz
B Bracket: Cal, Cal Maritime, San Jose State, Cal State Monterey Bay

Only the opening block of matches are known at this time based on tournament seeding; the Keelhaulers know they will compete in two matches on Saturday, starting with an 11:10 a.m. matchup versus San Jose State.

This is a rematch of last Sunday's CWPA Tournament finale, one CSUM won by a 15-10 result.

The winner of the Keelhaulers' match will play the winner of the preceding contest involving Cal and Cal State Monterey Bay, setting up a potential Saturday afternoon showdown between the two teams that battled in the Sierra Pacific's championship match the last two seasons.

Sunday's schedule is based on the overall results that take place throughout Saturday's slate, with final bracket standings playing a potential factor.

Every participating team will compete once on Sunday, with the third place team in Bracket A playing in the day's opening and closing match.

Teams competing for third place will face one another at 10:10 a.m., followed by the championship match at 11:20 a.m.
