Cal Maritime tops UC Santa Barbara in PCCSC Match Race Championship

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - The Cal Maritime sailing team placed fourth at the PCCSC Match Race Championship, hosted by Stanford, Oct. 2. 

A total of four schools competed in the regatta with Brock Paquin skippering and Kyle Collins, Hailey Thompson and Justin Zmina serving as crew for the Keelhaulers.

The regatta was sailed in a triple round-robin format. Cal Maritime went 1-8 in the event, sweeping their opening race against UC Santa Barbara. Host Stanford (9-0) went on to win the regatta and earn a berth to the ICSA Match Race Nationals.

The event, originially scheduled for Oct. 2-3, was adjusted to a one-day regatta due to conditions.

Next up for the Keelhaulers is the Stoney Burke Intersectional, Oct. 9-10, hosted by Cal.
