Sailing remains local for upcoming Cal Team Race

VALLEJO, Calif. – Cal Maritime will return to a familiar location when it heads to San Francisco for this weekend's Cal Team Race, hosted by Cal at the Treasure Island Sailing Center. Last October, the Keelhaulers finished third at the Stoney Burke Regatta when Cal organized that event at the same location.

A single round-robin format will take place among the eight teams that register for this event with participants placed in one of two brackets if a top- or bottom-four result is recorded. This format is subject to change on race day if there are favorable conditions that allow a double round-robin format.

Event officials will make that determination on race day.

First warning for both days is set for 10:30 a.m. Fans planning to attend this regatta should know that Treasure Island Sailing Center staff will allow only coaches, competitors, and volunteers inside the venue. Everyone else can watch the action from the sea wall west of TISC.
