Sailing’s season ends at the PCCSC Coed Dinghy Championship

NOTE: Cal Maritime sailing would like to thank Christine and David Tumilowicz for their hospitality throughout the dinghy team's stay in Honolulu. In addition to assisting the program throughout the regatta itself, their support truly made the Keelhaulers' season finale a memorable and unforgettable weekend. Athletics is grateful, and thankful, for your time and efforts, Christine and David!

Final Results

VALLEJO, Calif. –
Of the nine races that took place throughout the final day of action at the PCCSC Coed Dinghy Championship in Honolulu, hosted by Hawai'i Athletics, Cal Maritime posted a top-five finish five times in a field that included 14 conference teams that competed for an automatic berth at next month's ICSCA Nationals.

Cal Maritime ended its final regatta of the season in seventh place; Stanford and UC Santa Barbara claimed the league's two automatic berths by winning this event and finishing second.

Representing the Keelhaulers were junior Charlie Bedford (team captain) sophomores Ryan Downey, Kawika Tumilowicz and freshman Kyle Farmer.

This was a tight weekend of racing, from start to finish, as evident by the regatta's final results with only three points separating the four teams that finished fifth-through-ninth place.

The Keelhaulers enjoyed sunny skies and a consistent breeze throughout the regatta's 28 total races, which included 14 in each of the two divisions.

Capped by a second-place result in Saturday's final race, CSUM finished among the top five boats three times before posting its best race finish of the weekend. Cal Maritime also finished second in the fourth race that took place on Sunday.
