Dinghy team remains local for upcoming regatta

VALLEJO, Calif. – After winning the Mustang Open Team Race and finishing second at the Mustang Open three weeks later, Cal Maritime's dinghy team will remain local for its first regatta of the month when cadet-athletes head to St. Francis Yacht Club, in San Francisco, for this weekend's St. Francis Invite — co-hosted by SFYC and UC Santa Cruz.

Four races are slated to take place throughout each day of this regatta; first warning is 11 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday. Sailing fans can watch either/both days of competition at the St Francis Yacht Club (700 Marina Boulevard, San Francisco, 94123).

In addition to racing each day, SFYC will host a Saturday night social and another celebratory event Sunday afternoon, in addition to its awards presentation.

Joining Cal Maritime and the host institution for this two-day event are Cal, Cal Poly, Cal State Channel Islands, Rice, San Diego State, UC Davis, UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara. Participating teams will compete in two divisions with the lowest score winning this regatta's title.
