VALLEJO, Calif. – Kai Kraus led all Keelhaulers with 14 points and seven rebounds, and Mele Tuimaunei added another 10 points in Wednesday's home opener at PEAC Main Gym, but Menlo jumped out to a 27-7 lead after the first quarter and ended up with a 93-39 victory.
Cal Maritime will now head to San Diego for its next pair of games, starting with Friday's 11 a.m. non-conference matchup against San Diego Christian at the USK Sports Complex in San Marcos, California, and enter that matchup with an 0-3 record.
The Oaks will continue their season at 2-2.
Following Friday's game against the Hawks, the Keelhaulers will square off against Saint Katherine, on its home court, in Saturday's 10 a.m. designated non-conference event (both compete in the Cal Pac Conference, which is why the non-conference designation is needed).
