Cal Maritime drops Keelhauler Classic opener to Oregon Tech

VALLEJO, Calif. – Alina Daffon scored all 12 of her team-high points from three in Saturday's non-conference game at PEAC Main Gym vs. Oregon Tech, and Alicia Porter matched her teammate's total by draining four shots from the floor, combined with a perfect 4-for-4 effort at the line.

The Keelhaulers trailed the by eight late in the second quarter to remain within striking distance at halftime, but the Owls outscored Cal Maritime 29-4 in the third quarter to pull away and end their weekend in Vallejo with a 76-32 victory.

Cal Maritime will face a quick turnaround since its Keelhauler Classic finale is slated for Sunday at 5 p.m. against Southern Oregon. Oregon Tech ends the Keelhaulers' home tournament with wins in each of its two games played and will return home with a record of 8-3.

Sunday's women's game is the back-half of a Cal Maritime basketball doubleheader that begins at 2 p.m. with the men hosting Bushnell.
