REDDING, Calif. – Alicia Porter earned her seventh double-double of the season by finishing with a game-high 24 points and 12 rebounds, another game-high figure, when Cal Maritime kicked-off its six-game road swing during Saturday night's Cal Pac contest at Simpson.
Of her 24 points, 12 were scored at the line (out of 14 attempts) — a season-high total that fell two free throws shy of matching her career-high figure set at home against the Red Hawks last season.
Also turning in an impressive performance in Redding was Dylan Fulton; she shot 7-for-12 from the floor and collected seven rebounds.
Kai Kraus scored eight points, Marissa Serrano and Aysia Santos each added six, Anika Carey finished her night with five points and Myla Scott hit 1 of 2 free throws in a game the host Red Hawks won by an 89-65 score.
The Keelhaulers will return home with records of 1-8 overall, 1-4 against Cal Pac opposition and now have three days to prep for its upcoming weekend of road games since women's basketball will head to Arizona on Wednesday for league games at Benedictine Mesa (Jan. 5), Park Gilbert (Jan. 6) and Embry-Riddle (Jan. 8).
Simpson will remain in first place atop the Cal Pac standings and enter the new year with respective overall and conference records of 9-6 and 6-1.
