VALLEJO, Calif. – Alicia Porter led all players with 22 points and 12 rebounds, Dylan Fulton added nine points and six boards, and Kai Kraus hit 2 of 3 field goals from three to add another eight points in Sunday afternoon's Cal Pac matchup at the ERAU Activity Center in Prescott, Arizona.
The host Eagles scored the game's first six points and held that lead throughout the entire game to record a 77-49 victory against the Keelhaulers.
That game was the last of three played within a four-day timespan against Arizona-based league teams, a road swing through the state that began last Thursday at Benedictine Mesa.
In that matchup against the Red Hawks, Porter and Fuller led Cal Maritime's offense by scoring 34 and 16 points respectively; combined, the duo was responsible for 50 of the team's 69 points and 17 of its 22 baskets.
Porter scored 10 of 11 points at the line, and CSUM's roster shot an impressive 24-for-29 at the stripe but suffered a 100-69 loss in the first of two games in consecutive days.
Less that 24 hours after leaving Benedictine Mesa, women's basketball tipped-off against Park Gilbert in a game that saw Porter record a double-double on game-high totals of 23 points and 14 rebounds. Also finishing with a double-double, the season's first and second of her career, was Fulton by posting 10 and 10.
Unfortunately for the Keelhaulers, Park Gilbert early first quarter lead held for the rest of the night as the Buccaneers topped CSUM, 87-53.
With half of its season-long six-game road swing now over after playing three games within the extended weekend, Cal Maritime will now return home with a 1-11 overall and 1-7 Cal Pac record before returning to the road later this week to face La Sierra on Thursday and Antelope Valley two days later on their respective home courts.
