Alicia Porter joins elite list by reaching the 1,000-point milestone
VALLEJO, Calif. – Alicia Porter sank nine free throws in Sunday's Cal Pac Conference game against Park Gilbert, but it was the front end of a pair, attempted late in the third quarter, that led to her 1,000th career point. The Simi Valley native not only ended her evening with a game high 35 points, but a spot on an elite list of the program's top all-time scorers in its recorded history.

The junior forward will enter next week's road trip, the final one of the 2022-23 season, with 1,011 career points and a realistic shot to become the No. 2 all-time scorer in program history since four games remain in the regular season.
Porter now occupies a spot alongside Lauren Westbrook (2006-10) and Alexsis Brown (2009-10, 2011-12) on an elite list of Cal Maritime women's basketball cadet-athletes; Westbrook is CSUM's all-time leading scorer with 1,480 points; Brown ranks second with 1,126.
Even though Park Gilbert left PEAC Main Gym with a 102-68 victory, the evening truly belonged to Porter as the crowd erupted once she crossed that scoring threshold.
By collecting a game-high 18 rebounds, she also earned her 10th straight and 17th double-double of the season.
When the Keelhaulers open their upcoming road trip on Thursday at Westcliff, she will enter that matchup leading the league with a 26.0 points per game average.
