VALLEJO, Calif. – Women's basketball's four-game homestand started on a positive note when the team recorded a 73-41 victory in last Saturday's rivalry game, which led to a sweep of its season series against Pacific Union. The Keelhaulers' block of home action will conclude this weekend with a unique situation since they will face three Arizona-based Cal Pac Conference teams within a four-day timespan.

Cal Maritime will open this week's schedule on Thursday against Embry-Riddle, return to action the following night against Benedictine Mesa, enjoy a well-deserved day off on Saturday before wrapping-up the weekend versus Park Gilbert. All three games will tip at 5:30 p.m.

This upcoming set of games also provides basketball fans with an opportunity to witness history since Alicia Porter is on the cusp of reaching a scoring milestone. The junior guard forward is averaging a league-high 25.9 points per game and needs to score 69 more to reach the 1,000-career-point milestone. If she is able to accomplish this feat inside PEAC Main Gym this weekend, the Simi Valley native will join Lauren Westbrook (2006-10) and Alexsis Brown (2009-10, 2011-12) on this elite list of women's basketball cadet-athletes.

Westbrook holds the highest all-time scoring total, in the program's recorded history, with 1,480 points; Brown ranks second with 1,126.

Having split its previous six played with alternating results against Saint Katherine, La Sierra and Simpson — all wins — but dropping games versus Westcliff, Antelope Valley and UC Merced, Embry-Riddle will face the Keelhaulers before heading to Pacific Union on Sunday.

Currently fourth in the league's standings, the Eagles sit one-half game ahead of UC Merced with a road-heavy month of February awaiting them. Of the five games taking place throughout the upcoming weeks, the lone home event is slated for Sunday, February 12 against Benedictine Mesa — CSUM's next opponent that will visit PEAC Main Gym on Friday night.

Trailing fellow Arizona colleague Park Gilbert (Sunday's opponent) by one-half game, Benedictine Mesa (as well as the Buccaneers') postseason hopes are still alive since both trail La Sierra, a team that enters the week temporarily occupying the final postseason berth as the Cal Pac's sixth-place team. Both BenU and Park trail La Sierra by one win, which means the Keelhaulers can play the role of spoilers at home this week.

As is the case with CSUM, Benedictine Mesa will play two games in as many days, starting with its Thursday night matchup at Pacific Union. After they face the Keelhaulers, the Redhawks will host Park Gilbert on February 8 in its final home game of the season. Just like Embry-Riddle, five of its last six games are on the road.

Park Gilbert's month of February is slightly busier than its Arizona peers' since five of its final seven regular season games are road contests. Its mini three-game road swing will start on Friday at Pacific Union, continue in Vallejo before concluding at Benedictine Mesa. Home games against the Eagles and Westcliff will take place before the team's final Southern California trip, which includes a return game versus the Warriors and its season finale at Saint Katherine.
