VALLEJO, Calif. - The Cal Maritime women's soccer team fell to Marymount California 6-0 in California Pacific Conference (Cal Pac) play on Saturday afternoon at Bodnar Field.
Junior goalkeeper Maddy Dack made 11 saves in net for the Keelaulers, who drop to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in Cal Pac play.
Trailing 2-0 late in the first, Amanda Carvalho got a shot off that would have cut the deficit in half, but Marymount California goalkeeper Luz Lopez was equal to the task.
Cal Maritime kept within striking distance until midway through the second stanza, when the Mariners were able to score three times in an eight-minute span. Olga Luna scored twice and Maileena Marquez contributed three assists for the Mariners (1-8-1, 1-2 Cal Pac).
The Keelhaulers conclude a three-game homestand against Pacific Union on Thursday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m. before traveling to play Sierra Nevada in South Lake Tahoe on Friday, October 8 at 12 p.m.
