IRVINE, Calif. - Competing in its longest road trip of the season this weekend, Cal Maritime ended its swing through Southern California at Great Park in Sunday's non-conference match against the Westcliff Warriors.
Even though both teams compete in the California Pacific Conference, this was not considered a league matchup since the Keelhaulers and Warriors do not compete in the same division.
A group of four Keelhaulers — Becca Masliah, Amanda Carvalho, Lilli Gregg and Jackie Garcia — were collectively responsible or their team's shots, with the first two recording shots on goal during the second half.
Unfortunately for Cal Maritime, Westcliff continued its season-long homestand with another successful result after recording a 12-0 victory, which pushed the Keelhaulers' overall record to 0-6 and improved Westcliff's mark to 4-4.
All four of the Warriors' wins this season took place on its home turf.
Cal Maritime will conclude a road-heavy portion of its schedule that includes four straight games taking place outside of Vallejo on Friday when the team heads to UC Merced on Friday for its first official conference game. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
