MESA, Ariz. – Mia Rathsack recorded her first shot on goal in Friday night's Cal Pac Conference opener against Benedictine Mesa — the first of consecutive games taking place at Bell Bank Park during the Keelhaulers' current Arizona road trip.
That facility doubles as the home of Park Gilbert's soccer teams, Cal Maritime's upcoming opponent when it returns to the complex with an 0-3 overall and 0-1 league record for Sunday's 11 a.m. league matchup, since the host Redhawks recorded an 8-0 win, to push their respective records to 3-2-1 and 1-1, in their sixth overall and second league contest of 2022.
Once CSUM returns home, only one game stands between it and the team's Sept. 27 home opener versus Holy Names, and that is next Sunday's contest at Pacific Union (Sept. 25) — the last game of five straight on the road to open the Keelhaulers' season.
