Holy Names visits Vallejo for Keelhaulers' home opener

VALLEJO, Calif. - Cal Maritime's defense came up with one clutch play after another during a scoreless second half of Tuesday's non-conference home opener versus Holy Names, but it was three goals scored throughout the early portion of the game that helped the visiting Hawks record a 4-0 victory at Bodnar Field.

After opening the season with five straight road games, the Keelhaulers will travel once again for their next game, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Soka on Friday, and will arrive to Aliso Viejo with a 0-6 overall record. Holy Names will continue its season at 6-3.

The second half of women's soccer's season is filled with home events, a well-earned for its road-heavy start to its season. Once the team returns from Orange County, its next five games will take place on home turf. Starting with their Oct. 3 home match against Lincoln, seven of the Keelhaulers' final nine games will take place on campus.
