IRVINE, Calif. - The longest road trip of the season concluded on Sunday when Cal Maritime visited Great Park in Irvine to end its Southern California swing at Westcliff.
The host Warriors scored their first goal of the morning at the 10-minute mark, and eventually held a 3-0 lead at the half. Once action resumed, they extended that lead to five before tacking on another three late goals to defeat the Keelhaulers, 8-0.
The final game of four in a row, played outside Vallejo, will take place on Friday when Cal Maritime faces UC Merced in a Cal Pac Conference game that is slated for 7:30. The Keelhaulers will enter that contest with an overall record of 0-5-1. Westcliff will continue its season at 7-2-2 and remain undefeated at home this year.
Even though Sunday's game featured two Cal Pac teams, this is not a league matchup since Cal Maritime and the Warriors compete in different divisions.
