VALLEJO, Calif. – Cal Maritime will enjoy a luxury at the end of its season by playing its final four games at Bodnar Field, starting with Friday's Cal Pac Conference game against La Sierra. Due to the Golden Eagles' Sabbath, which takes place from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday, this matchup will start at 4 p.m.

Once that event ends, the Keelhaulers will experience a quick turnaround, and return to non-conference action, since Lincoln (CA) will visit Vallejo for Sunday's 11 a.m. contest.

After collecting a 4-0 victory at Saint Katherine in its final game of September, La Sierra suffered losses in each of its last three games, all at home, versus Westcliff, Soka and Embry-Riddle.

Following Friday's game, the Golden Eagles will head to Angwin to face Pacific Union in its last road match of 2023 before concluding the season at home next Thursday against Providence Christian.

Cal Maritime's offense is led by the 1-2 punch of sophomore defender Jose Diaz and sophomore defender/midfielder Luka Bilaver; the former leads the team with six goals, the seventh-highest total in the league, and the latter enters CSUM's upcoming homestand as one of the Cal Pac's hottest players by scoring three goals last weekend — he finished with the first brace of his career last Thursday at Antelope Valley — and four goals within his last four played.

Diaz' six goals are a new single-season program record, one he can extend throughout the final two weeks of the season.

Led by junior midfielder Rafael Rivera with six, 10 different players are responsible for the Golden Eagles' offense in 2023.

Cal Maritime's morning matchup on Sunday is the first of consecutive non-conference games: Once this weekend concludes, the Keelhaulers will host Stanton University on Thursday, October 26, before squaring off against PUC two days later in its Senior Day matchup on Sunday, October 29.
