VALLEJO, Calif. –
Following the program's inaugural road trip to Oregon, which took place last weekend as part of its season-opening set of games, William Jessup will visit Bodnar Field on Tuesday, at 5 p.m., for Cal Maritime's 2022 home opener. Following men's soccer's third game within a five-day timespan, it will head to Arizona for Friday's 8 p.m. Cal Pac Conference opener against Benedictine Mesa, followed by Sunday afternoon's 1:30 p.m. matchup versus Park University Gilbert.

Both league road games will take place at the same facility, Bell Bank Park (Powered by Legacy Sports) in Mesa, Arizona.

The Keelhaulers will return home following its gritty performance last Friday at Multnomah, highlighted by newcomer Nikhil Hunter's first goal as a Keelhauler and Ronald Squier's equalizer in the 53rd minute to help their team start the season with a 2-2 tie.

Starting this season, if the score is tied at the end of regulation, the game is officially considered a draw. Overtime, and double overtime (if needed), will only take place during postseason competition.

Tuesday's game marks the debut appearance at Bodnar Field for 12 newcomers, a group that includes 10 freshmen, when it faces a William Jessup squad that has not competed since Sept. 5 when it fell 4-1 against UC Merced, a team that received votes in the NAIA's national poll that week.

As was the case against the Bobcats, the Warriors were slated to host Cal State Monterey Bay last Wednesday before that contest was cancelled due to excessive heat in Rocklin.

The Keelhaulers are the fifth Cal Pac opponent on WJ's non-conference slate: Following a 2-0 home win vs. Bushnell, it posted a 1-1 tie at Simpson, shut out Pacific Union (5-0 score) and finished with a 2-2 draw against Antelope Valley.

During respective non-conference schedules, Benedictine Mesa dropped its last match at The Masters, the team's final tune-up before conference play, and tied its previous two games versus Hope University and Arizona Christian. By starting its season in late August, Park University Gilbert competed in six non-conference events before opening its Cal Pac schedule on Wednesday at Saint Katherine.

Following a season-opening split of their first four games — the Buccaneers defeated Bushnell, Life Pacific and suffered losses against Arizona Christian and Multnomah — they topped Cal Tech on the road and tied 11th-ranked Ottawa University.

Entering Sunday's game, Park has not won a game at home (0-1-1) and earned all three of its wins on the road, out of four played so far in 2022.
